How to Retrieve Files Deleted From Command Prompt

Hi, yesterday I thought to delete few of unwanted files using command prompt, while doing that, I accidentally erased some important files. So I tried to recover them back with the help of undelete command but it is not accepting it. Is there any other way to get back those files? Those files are very crucial so please help me.

In Windows OS, there is no command that will help you to get back deleted data. When you face such above kind of situations, first thing to do is, stop using (read/write) your computer because knowingly or unknowingly your files may get overwritten. Then check whether you have maintained backup of deleted files? Then don’t panic because it is possible to regain those files by using an appropriate third party tool.

When a file get deleted using command prompt, it does not get deleted permanently from HD, it will remain intact to its original location. User will not be able to see the file because the pointer accessing to that file is removed that’s why even the OS will not be able to find it on hard drive. Is mistakenly if you save/copy any file to that memory location then the file system will indicate operating system to store it in that free space. So, after this erased files space gets overwritten by new files resulting in permanent deletion of data. Hence it is recommended to avoid using the device before file recovery.
